Dr. Syed Nadeem MBBS, FRCPC, FACC, Cardiologist
Dr. Rahul Bhindi is a Canadian Royal College of Physician’s board certified adult Cardiologist specializing in Interventional Cardiology (opening and stenting of closed arteries) and complex coronary procedures.
Dr. Bhindi received his Internal Medicine training in Winnipeg and then moved back home to Vancouver to complete his Cardiology fellowship. He then pursued an Interventional Cardiology fellowship with a primary focus on complex, high risk coronary artery procedures at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
Dr. Omid Kiamanesh is a practicing adult cardiologist with additional training in advanced heart failure and clinical lipidology.
Dr. Kiamanesh completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at the University of British Columbia, where he was Chief Medical and Chief Cardiology Resident. He completed subspecialty fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Cardiac Transplantation at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Kiamanesh’s research in heart failure and echocardiography has been published in international medical journals and presented at international conferences.
Outside of the practice of medicine, Dr. Kiamanesh road bikingand spending time with his wife and son.
Dr. Karen (Kaja) Konieczny is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist (heart rhythm disorder specialist) at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. She completed medical school, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology Residency at the University of Toronto. She subsequently completed an Electrophysiology Fellowship at St. Michael’s Hospital. Her clinical interests include both simple and complex ablation, as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implantation. She is completing her Master of Education degree in Higher Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Her research focus reflects an interest in medical education at all levels of medical training.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Asim Cheema graduated from Nishtar Medical College in Pakistan, received a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of Toronto and an MSc in Health Care Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds specialty certification in Medicine and Cardiology from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. He teaches and provides supervision to graduate students at the Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Toronto and the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson University. His main focus of research is adjunctive pharmacology for coronary interventions, transradial percutaneous coronary intervention and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He has written several articles in major cardiovascular journals, received national awards and lectured at national and international cardiology conferences.
